Learning Beyond Sight: Tools That Open Doors to Independence

A child's world should never be limited by what they cannot see. With the right tools, encouragement and opportunities, they can learn, grow and build a future of their own.

In July 2026 (acknowledged by the school in a letter dated 27 July 2026), Kasley Foundation donated Braille teaching aids and educational materials to students of Late Shri Kanubhai Vora Andh Vidyalaya, Malkapur, Akola — a school dedicated to educating children with visual impairments.

Every child deserves access to education. For children who are blind or have significant visual impairments, that access often depends on learning materials designed to help them explore, understand and interact with the world in different ways.

This initiative was aimed at supporting that journey.

Small Tools. Important Milestones.

The donation included the following items:

• 150 styluses
• 20 plastic Braille slates (Sparsh) — helping students practise writing, develop literacy skills and learn through Braille
• 3 kg of arithmetic type — helping students learn numbers and calculations through touch
• 5 folding sticks — tools that can support mobility and greater independence when used with appropriate training
• 10 audible balls — balls that make a sound, for play and activity
• 10 signature guides — helping students sign their names with confidence

Each of these items serves a purpose beyond its physical form. A Braille slate can support a child's journey towards literacy. A folding stick can help a student develop confidence in moving around. Arithmetic type can make numbers easier to understand through touch.

These tools do not define what a child can achieve. They help make learning and participation more accessible.

In the School's Words

In its letter of 27 July 2026, the school wrote: “The Braille slates will greatly assist them in their daily academic studies, while the educational toys and materials will help to improve their cognitive development, creativity, and joy in learning.”

The school added: “Your kindness has brought smiles to their faces and renewed enthusiasm to their classrooms.”

Late Shri Kanubhai Vora Andh Vidyalaya operates under The Blind Welfare & Rehabilitation Association, Akola.

The school serves children with visual impairments and plays an important role in providing access to education and specialised learning support.

Kasley Foundation's donation was supported by a documented purchase from the National Association for the Blind, Worli, Mumbai. Cash Memo No. 110069, dated 1 July 2026, records the purchase of styluses, plastic slates, arithmetic type, folding sticks, audible balls and signature guides.

This record reflects the practical investment behind the initiative: providing specialised resources that are relevant to the educational and everyday needs of visually impaired students.
